Throwback to Aug. 2007

From my Diary Aug. 12, 2007

The notes in blue are my added thoughts today

Moving to Manitoba

Greg left for Manitoba today. to start work I’m always so sad when he leaves but especially on Sundays.  We’ve spent the last week together 24-7 because we’re both done our jobs, so being apart is lonely.

Sometimes I hope things go side-ways so that we won’t have to move but I know this is a good thing for Greg.  I just hope it’s a good thing for our kids.  We’ve never been apart except for when they were in Bible School and then we didn’t see Craig for 9mths & Crystal for 3mths because she came home for Christmas.  I know we’ll see them at least every 3mths.  I’ll just have to.  we’ve made many trips that probably did average out just about right

I’ve taken this morning to read this diary & hi-lite dates of important events.  Thru-out my writings I’ve noticed 1 distinct prayer concern: My children & their future spouses. I learnt to pray earnestly telling Him all my hearts desires.  Maybe my idea of a “spouse” has changed and who knows what He has planned for Craig & Crystal. not sure what this meant or what I was thinking but today I am so thankful for my sons-in-law, they are a blessing to our family!

We hope our house sells this week.

At 4:00, Theo our realtor in Calgary called and said an offer was made & Greg had accepted it.  I called Greg, he was so happy.

I called Craig & Crystal later in the evening.
END OF DIARY

This was the state of our home when we purchased it.  I was putting a lot of faith into the builders to complete it and not take us on a wild ride.  Greg checked in every time he was in Manitoba just to see the progress and told me how it looked when he came back home to Calgary.  I guess we didn’t do a lot with technology back then because today we’d be snapping photos like crazy!

This photo was taken as we drove around Morden waiting for the Sellers to accept our offer.  Greg just got word that we had a new home in Morden.  Now they just had to finish it.

Don’t go too far.  More fun photos of camping and Morden to come.

GITNO

In case you missed that . . .
Graphite Is The New Orange
See the post on the original ‘orange’ door here.

Originally I thought Orange would add the 3rd color “splash” in our bedroom but just couldn’t love the color enough to make it work
or to add more accessories to help it work….so I changed the door and added a softer pink/orange/rose color to our bedroom.

I changed the knobs on the top from brown to blue & white.
Also changed the wooden hook plaque to match.
Then I changed out the small hooks on either side to a more
bold look and added some accent white.

My photos are not the greatest today.
*that's why this photo is so small but it gives you
the whole door.
Our lighting in the bedroom is quite dim and it was too
cold outside to take photos.
didn't want to ask the hubby to move the door a
round the house to find good lighting as it's a very heavy solid door.
My time for blogging and painting will slowly fizzle out for a few months are we go thru this moving phase.
I’m not sure what anything will look like but
hopefully I can do some things to keep sane.
Have a good day!

Clay Bowls

I really wanted to share these beauties with you.
What a great way to show off the detail in doilies.

I use these bowls all around my house.  Alone they are a conversation piece on your coffee table.  Display your favourite tea light and watch how it illuminates the detail in the clay.  Use on the kitchen counter to keep your rings safe when you remove them.

I’m always looking for the doily with the most unique design so I can show it off.  And I’ve only shown you a few of the ideas I’ve done so far.  I’ve plenty more ideas, now I just need more time.
Have a great week!
